Svartkonst

Svartkonst is a blackened death metal force from Härnösand, Sweden. Created by multi-instrumentalist Rickard Törnqvist, the project emerged as a solitary vision rooted in bleak black metal atmosphere and the violent weight of Swedish death metal, driven by the classic chainsaw guitar tone that defines the genre.

The debut album ”Devil’s Blood” was released in 2018 and immediately gained attention beyond the underground. Swedens biggest newspaper, Aftonbladet, highlighted the album as one of the year’s strongest heavy releases, citing its raw intensity and emotional weight. The record established Svartkonst as a serious presence within the Swedish extreme metal scene.

”Black Waves” followed in 2020, sharpening the sound and expanding its reach. The album received a Manifestgalan nomination and marked a turning point for the project. After its release, Svartkonst evolved from a one-man studio effort into a full live band, bringing the music to the stage with uncompromising force.

In 2023, Svartkonst released ”May the Night Fall”, a darker and more dynamic record that further refined the band’s blackened death metal identity and earned additional award recognition. Since then, the band has played select shows and festivals in support of the album, while actively working on new material and preparing for the next chapter.
